Albert W. "Al" Galbraith age 83 of Fulton, IL, formerly of Clinton, passed away Saturday Feb. 3, 2018 at The Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday Feb. 7th at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4 - 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Al was born on April 19, 1934 in Folletts, IA, the son of Henry and Elfrieda (Willer) Galbraith. He graduated from Elvira High School in 1952. He married Eunice Voss on Nov. 30, 1952 in Clinton; she died in 2007. Al worked at E.I. Dupont for over 42 years as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church and very active with the Congregational Church UCC prior. Al served on the Clinton City Council for many years, member of the Moose Lodge and the Lions Club. Al was very family oriented, enjoyed traveling, and watching college football.
Al is survived by his three children, Pamela Galbraith of Waterloo, IA, Brent (Sandy) Galbraith of Clinton, and Karen (Mark Rubley) Sullens of Belvidere, IL; 5 grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, Jacob, Jackie, and Jesse; 2 great grandchildren, Quentin and Adalynne; his very special friend, Shirley Larkey of Low Moor; and his two sisters-in-law, Betty and Deanna Galbraith. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers.
