ANNA L. WIERSEMA, 88, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 13th, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery.
Anna was born June 22, 1928, in Fulton, to William and Dena (Balk) Dykstra. She was educated in the Cottonwood School in rural Whiteside County. On February 17, 1950 she married Carl R. Wierenga in Fulton. She married Howard J. Wiersema on August 15, 1998 in Thomson, IL. She worked for Fulton Corporation in Fulton for 40 plus years, retiring in March of 1996. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. Memorials to First Christian Reformed Church and Harbor Crest Nursing Home have been established.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; three daughters, Marcia (Terry) Nielsen of Clinton, IA, Diane (Patrick) Housenga of Thomson, IL and Angela (John) Vander Eide of Fulton, IL; three step daughters, Bonita (Stephen) Bailey of Fulton, IL, Susan (Dan) Wagner of Fulton, IL and Penny (John) Toureene of Mackinaw, IL; one step son, Terry Wiersema of Fulton, IL; one step daughter-in-law, Mrs. Brenda Wiersema of Fulton, IL; six grandchildren,; eleven step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; twenty one step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a step father, Henry Kamphuis; one sister, Mary E. Foster; one step son, Howard Wiersema Jr. ; one step grandson, Faron Bailey; one step great grandson, Jordan Farr.
