Darcey was born on June 17, 1980, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Sandra (DeVries) Leu. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, dedicated big sister and loving friend. Despite a two-year battle with cancer, Darcey never stopped living life to the fullest. Darceys family grew by three in 2015 when she married the love of her life, Angela Jacobs and became the stepmother to her son, Cameron Peel. One year later, on May 27, 2016, Darcey and Angela welcomed Jaxson William Leu into their lives. Jaxsons birth gave Darcey a new purpose in life, as he became her motivation, her light, her rock and her energy to continue her fight. Darcey was surrounded with unconditional love from her core people - Angie, her parents, her twin brothers Justin (Ryan Mason) Leu and Jacob (Kayla) Leu, her children, her aunt Susan Huling and countless other family members and friends.
Family and friends will remember Darcey by these words - Looking back, I dont think I would change a thing about the way I was brought up. My parents taught me values, integrity, how to prioritize and, most of all, the importance of embracing life. I was diagnosed with stage four cancer; my life was put on a timeline by doctors. There seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel. At that moment, I looked around and saw I didnt need a light at the end of the tunnel. Everybody around me was shining the light on me throughout my whole journey.
Darcey is survived by her two children; her wife; two brothers; one sister; her parents; and several nieces and nephews.
