David L. (Dave) Williams of Cedar Falls died Thursday, Jan 18 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. He was born April 30, 1925, in Sparta, Wisconsin, the son of Jesse and Florentina Williams. He married Audrey Vieth on September 14, 1946. Upon graduation from high school, Dave enlisted in the navy and served his country from 1942 - 1946. Dave graduated from Madison Business College in Madison, Wisconsin, and retired as the District Manager of Thermogas Company of Waterloo after 33 years. They lived in Denver, IA until retirement. After retirement, he and Audrey spent their winters in Mission, TX and summers in Harper's Ferry, IA eventually moving to Mission full time. He currently resided at the Western Home - Windcove.
He was a member of the American Legion and a past president. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver and most recently Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ann Dunnaway and Edith Benedict. Dave is survived by his wife, Audrey; three daughters: Patricia (Sam) Kehe of Camanche, Dianne (David) Happel of Waterloo, and Peggy (Wendell) Schmitz of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Tom Kehe, Whitney (Matt) Weaver, Alison (Alan) Fahrenkrog, Lesley (Ryan Morris, Holly Schmitz, and Michael (Bailey) Schmitz; five great-grandchildren: Luke, Ian and Maya Morris and Ethan and Evi Weaver.
Memorials may be directed to Western Home Chapel Fund or Nazareth Lutheran Church of Cedar Falls.
Dave loved all sports. He was an avid golfer with eight "holes in one" and he loved his Cubbies and celebrated their World Series Championship in 2016. He was especially proud of being a World War II veteran. He was devoted to the love of his life, Audrey, for 71 years.
