Donald L. Buckman, Sr, 72, of Camanche, passed away, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be 11:00am, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Catholic Church of the Visitation. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Marty Schnoor, Mark Stuhlman, Rob Ruchotzke, Dick Kooi, Marc Lineberry, and Jim Birley. Visitation will be from 9:30 to the mass time at the church. Donald Lee Buckman was born on January 28, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Levi and Eleanor (Nixon) Buckman. He was a 1963 graduate of Clinton High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1963-1966. He married Susan McKinney on January 28, 1967 in Clinton.
Don was employed at Ralston Purina for 34 years retiring in 2004. He loved his family and many great friends. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs, also fishing and working in the yard.
Don is survived by his wife: Sue of Camanche; two sons: Don Buckman, Jr. of North Liberty, Iowa, Bill (Rhonda) Buckman of DePere, Wisconsin; a granddaughter: Justine Buckman; one sister: Jill (Norm) Weispfenning of Clinton; nieces and nephews; and sisters in law: Karen Balzam of Camanche, and Mary Buckman of Adel, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and his twin brother: Ron.
Memorials can be made to the Clinton Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
