Don lived and worked on the family farm with his parents. After they sold the farm, they continued to live on the farm for ten years, until the death of his father, Harry. He also assisted Dr. James Cahill with several small jobs over the years. He loved his community and was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston and the Izaak Walton League in Sabula. He also enjoyed bowling in several area leagues and playing cards, especially Euchre. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and playing softball in his younger years. When Don was at home, he enjoyed watching TV and was an avid LA Dodgers Baseball fan. Most of all, Don cherished spending time with his close family and friends.
