FULTON, IL Donna M. Green, age77, passed away at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa on October 3, 2017. She passed away from everything but toughness. She fought a courageous battle of cancer and surgeries.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites have been accorded by the McDonald Funeral Home, Fulton, IL.
She was born on May 12, 1940 in Stockton, IL the daughter of Elwyn and Marian (Krise) Brubaker. She graduated from Stockton High School with the Class of 1958. On August 15, 1958 she was united in marriage to Harold Toepfer, Jr. To that union, two children were born, Jim and Laurie. She later divorced and married Jim Green of Fulton on May 10, 1985. She worked for the school in Clinton, Iowa, Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton and later 20 years at PFC in Camanche, Iowa.
She enjoyed cruises with her husband Jim. Phone calls and visits with Jim and Laurie, having lunch with her friend Sara and phone calls with her brothers, Ed and Ray. Donna liked to shop, country music, family get togethers, having lunch with some classmates and class reunions. She enjoyed birthday parties for her grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. Donna liked vacations to her brothers and sister, Kathy and Lonnie and going to Dustys to see Terry Ann and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of Fulton; one son, Jim Toepfer of Moline, IL; one daughter, Laurie Toepfer of Davenport, Iowa; three step children, Tom (Liz) Green of Prophetstown, Jimmy (Jes) Green of Maquoketa, Iowa and Charlie (Amy) Green of Grand Mound, Iowa; one grandson; two great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one sister, Kathy (Lonnie) Fox of Albany; two brothers, Ed Brubaker of Christiana, TN and Ray (Lori) Brubaker of Yuma, AZ; mother-in-law, Ann Green of Morrison, IL ; brothers-in-law, Gary (Cheryl) Green of Fulton, IL and Dean Green of Morrison, IL as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Wayne Brubaker.
