George Robert Kane, age 88 of Clinton, passed away Sunday September 9, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. He requested no funeral services. Cremation rites were accorded and a private burial will be determined at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

George was born in Clinton, Iowa on July 27, 1930, the son of George H. and Anna (Conley) Kane. He married Georgia A. Kohten on September 16, 1950. George was a Korean War Veteran. He worked 35 years for Climax/Waukesha.

George is survived by his wife, Georgia; two daughters, Patricia A. Schluns, Clinton and Dianna L. Huling of Camanche; two sons, Robert J. (Claudia) Kane of Jacksboro, TN and Michael W. Kane of Clinton; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, David (Colleen) Kane of Iowa City, IA and three sisters, Donna (Donald) Winter of Clinton, Grace (Allen) Luckritz of Clinton and Sharon (Michael) Williams of Peoria, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; 15 brothers and sisters, and two son-in-laws, Paul E. Schluns and Allen H. Huling.

I was sorry to read in the Clinton Herald of the passing of my Uncle Bob. He was a great man. He was the only one that I knew who could dismantle an engine, put it back together, have it run better than it did.....with extra parts sitll on the floor. Rest In Peace, Uncle Bob....you will not be alone.
