Gordon D. Campbell, 84, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Iowa City.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Gordon Dean Campbell was born on January 24, 1933 in St. James, Minnesota, the son of Claud and Effie (Rollings) Campbell. He served in the United States Army from 1948-1955. He graduated from Madison College. He married Shirley Schunke on January 26, 1960 in Mexico; she died December 29, 2004.
Gordon was employed at Ralston Purina for over 27 years as a project engineer retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Clinton Moose Lodge and the Clinton AMVETS. He enjoyed fishing and woodcarving.
Gordon is survived by his daughter: Kimberly (Ernie) Renkes of Fulton; two grandchildren: Michael & Ann Renkes of Fulton; his sister Kay Lentz of Rochester, Minnesota; two sister-in-laws: Sharon Campbell of Clinton, and Ingrid Campbell of Sarasota, Florida, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers.
