James D. Honeywell, 70, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Genesis East Medical Center - Davenport.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Weispfenning, Byron Kasterke, Ray Detlefs, Mike Gentry, Dave Dalrymple, and Wayne Krainz. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm at the funeral home. James Dean Honeywell was born on August 2, 1947 in Ames, Iowa the son of Lewis and Jean (Chellis) Honeywell. He was a 1965 graduate of Clinton High School. He was later drafted into the United States Army and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on June 23, 1968.
Jim was employed at DairyPak for over 40 years retiring in 2012. He enjoyed playing golf and taking his three mile walk every day. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughter: Kari Thurston of Fulton; two grandchildren: Chloe and Avery Thurston; his sister: Kay (Jim) Scott of Orion, Illinois, two brothers: John (Julie) Honeywell of Winona, Minnesota, and David Honeywell of Bernard, Iowa; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
