Janice Kay Houglum
Janice Kay Houglum (née Hall), 69, of Clinton IA. died October 7th 2017. Janice, daughter of Mildred Bowman Hall and Veral Red Jackson Hall, passed away unexpectedly at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT.
Cremation rites have been arranged and services will be private.
Janice was born on March 22nd, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1966, and from Capri Cosmetology School in 1967. Janice married Kendall Houglum at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1974. Her son Kevin Eugene was born in Davenport, IA in 1979. The family later relocated to Minnesota and eventually settled near La Crosse, WI. Janice moved back to Clinton many years later where she worked as a beautician until her retirement in April of 2017 when she followed her dream of moving to the beautiful American West.
Janice was very sweet and loved animalsespecially cats. She was very fond of gemstones and enjoyed collecting them as a hobby. Her other hobbies included reading and watching movies.
A loving mother and sister, she is survived by her son Kevin Houglum, daughter-in-law Francesca Mattei, her sister Marianne Hall Thien, nephew Douglas Thien, niece Melissa Thien, great-nephews Jacob and Riley, and great-niece Anna. Her free-spirited and caring nature will be greatly missed.
