Joan Byllesby was born April 15, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa to Sereta (McCabe) and Robert B. Byllesby. She attended Clinton public schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. Joan married John Boitman at the Clinton Arboretum on June 17,1978. Joan, John, and their daughter Maija moved to Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1986. Joan is survived by her husband John, her daughter, Maija McKeown (Aric) and granddaughters Matilda and Adelaide. Joan also is survived by her sister Sue Peters (David), nieces Lisa Grace, Kathy Peters, and nephew
Eric Peters (Shari) along with many great-nieces and great nephews. Joans parents preceded her in death.
A talented writer, Joan, also loved to read everything from the Great American Novels to tabloid magazines. Other things Joan enjoyed included spending time with her family; anything related to animals-especially the adorable stories of unlikely interspecies animal friendships, and hot fudge sundaes with the hot fudge on the side. It should be noted that approximately five years ago, Joan decided to make a big change-she went from drinking Diet Coke to Diet Pepsi!
Her current pets are two cats-Dolly and Guy Fox and a dog Moose. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Memorial gifts in Joans name can be made to Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul. Minn. The Clinton Humane Society, and Unity Center of Clinton or a place of personal choice.
