Joyce's Story

Joyce Darline Bousman, 88, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center North on Thursday, September 21, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, at Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, at Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Joyce was born December 31, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Catherine (Gool) Langfitt. She was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Clarence Cork Bousman on August 5, 1946.

Joyce was a loving mother and wife, taking care of her family was always her main focus.

Joyce was an avid reader, she loved reading murder mysteries, often reading a book a day. She also enjoyed garage sales and loved going to antique stores. She maintained a wonderful collection of paper weights and dolls. Along with her husband, she enjoyed travelling the Country seeing nearly every State. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Joyce is survived by one daughter - Barb (Don) Jacobsen of Clinton, IA; 2 daughter in-laws, Kathy Bousman of Lomax, IL and Peggy Bousman of Clarksville, TN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 sister Gloria Mahmens of Clinton, IA; with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Joyce in death were her parents, her husband Cork and 4 sons Roger, Bill, Darrell and Gary.
