Judith A. Petersen, 74, of Clinton passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at The Alverno Health Care Facility Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church Clinton. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Petersen, Cole Petersen, Perry Petersen, Jeff Vath, Darwin Neff, Steven Balk, Rachal Werner and Blake Werner. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the church. Judith Ann Goers was born September 10, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Dorothy (Symons) Goers. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. She married Alan Petersen on September 8, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa; he preceded her in death on January 23, 1995.
Judy worked as the head cook for the Clinton Community School for 30 years; retiring in 2011. She also worked for PFC and then later for Nielsens Clearing House. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton.
Judy was a member of the local Wa-Tan-Ye club. She enjoyed baking, going on cruises and spending time with her family and dog.
She is survived by her three loving children: Marc (Pam) Petersen of Clinton, Melissa (Steve) Werner of Fulton and Shawn (Lori) Petersen of Clinton, five grandchildren: Cole Petersen, Rachal Werner, Blake Werner, Preston Petersen and Perry Petersen; brother-in-law Richard Miller and niece Janet Irish.
In addition to her husband, Judy was preceded in death by parents, one sister, and her step-mother: Myra Goers.
