Karen L. Cossman, age 62 of Clinton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at The Alverno Health Care Facility. In following Karens wishes her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. A Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 26th at Prince of Peace Parish. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Karen was born in Clinton on March 11, 1955, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (McDermott) Cossman. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1955 and was an Art Major at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She taught Art at Prince of Peace High School. Karen was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She was an Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis. She attended daily Mass, was an avid reader and enjoyed antiquing.
Karen is survived by three brothers and sister; Leonard (Fran) Cossman of Parkersburg, WV, Joe (Mary) Cossman of Fort Worth, TX, Mark Cossman of Des Moines and Beth (Paul) Krentz of Naperville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
