LEE POTTER JR., 85, of Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, IL, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Fritz, of the Thomson United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. Saturday, until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Lower York Cemetery in Thomson.

Lee was born October 26, 1931 in Thomson, IL, to Lee and Mary (Grawe) Potter Sr. Lee was educated in the Lanark Grade Schools in Lanark, IL and the Sand Ridge Grade School of rural Carroll County, IL. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Lee was a truck driver for his brother-in-law, Floyd LaShelle. He was an avid Cubs fan. A memorial has been established to the Thomson Veteran's Memorial Fund.

Survivors include one sister, Arlene (Ken) Starr of Thomson, IL; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances LaShelle and Ardetta Wallin; four brothers, Donald, Howard, Merle and Fay Potter.
