Louis Gustav Meder, 94, of Clinton, Iowa passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home in Clinton. Services will be held 11AM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9AM until the service hour. Louis was born March 12, 1923 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Louis and Imogene (Fuller) Meder. He was a Clinton High graduate. Louis was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Louis was a WWII U. S. Army veteran.
Louis married Elizabeth Frey in 1946; he later married Mable Lange in 1955, she preceded him in death in 2002.
He was employed as a machinist with DuPont for many years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Burke of Clinton; step-daughter, Marlene (Ray) Rettkowski of Oquawka, IL; grandchildren, Lisa (Patrick) Burke of Clinton; Tina Griffin of Clinton; Christine (Major) Williamson of Rowlett, TX; Azure (David) Fields of Clinton and Joshua (Michael) Foster of Davenport, IA; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and special friend Marty Ray of Clinton. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents a sister and a brother.
