Madelyn Ursula St. Clair, 96, of Clinton, died, Monday, June 12, 2017 at Bickford Assisted Living, Clinton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Madelyn was born April 1, 1921 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Elizabeth (Werdel) Miller. Madelyn graduated from Upper Iowa University with her teaching degree and received her BA from Marycrest College in 1975. She married Charles St. Clair on May 23, 1942 in Oelwein, Iowa; he died July 2, 2004.
She was a member of Jesus Christ Prince of Peace and former member of St. Marys Catholic Church.
She had been employed as an elementary school teacher for the Camanche Community School District for 17 years. She had also been a teacher in Goose Lake and Sabula.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Pokorny of Bryant, Iowa; son, Mark (Kathy) St. Clair of Bellevue, Iowa 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her daughter, Connie Walker.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
