Melanie A Kirk Melanie A. Kirk, 59, of Maquoketa passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Maquoketa.
Melanie Ann was born on October 29, 1956 in Maquoketa to William and Nancy Jones. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1974. On April 20, 1985 she was united in marriage to Robert Kirk in Maquoketa. She worked at Pizza Hut and ADAC in Maquoketa also she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Melanie enjoyed listening to KMAQ Radio Station and boating. She was a Green Bay Packers Fan and loved attending her children's sporting events. She had a heart of gold and loved to help anyone she could and even helped "mother" several kids over the years. Melanie loved any and all animals. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 31 years Robert "Bob" Kirk, three children; Emily (Scott) Streets of Davenport, Robert Kirk of Maquoketa, William (Brianna) Kirk of Maquoketa, four grandchildren; Kale, Brigham, William, Addilynn, three sisters; Carolyn (Gerald) Laughlin of Maquoketa, Jody (Jack) Unmuth of Menasha, WI, Julie Blankenship of Oklahoma City, OK and her mother-in-law Mary Ellen Kirk of Maquoketa.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary, her son Jeff Caven and her father-in-law Jim Kirk.
