Milton Henry Drury, age 85, of Miles, Iowa, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston, Iowa. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Rural Miles. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, with a Scripture Wake service at 3:30 p.m., prior to the visitation. Milton was born on May 14, 1932, the son of Benjamin and Ida (Baker) Drury in Miles, Iowa. He attended Miles High School, graduating with the Class of 1950. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He married Mary Lou Feltes on July 5, 1958, at Bellevue State Park, Bellevue, Iowa. They celebrated 45 years of marriage until Mary Lous death on July 27, 2004.
Milton farmed his entire life on the family farm in rural Miles. He also worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, Iowa and sold seed for MoorMans in Maquoketa. He was a longtime faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of the National Farm Organization. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and square dancing in his younger years.
Milton will be dearly missed by one son, Mitchell (Angela) Drury of Camanche, Iowa; two daughters, Michele (Paul Herrick) Drury of Anchorage, Alaska, and Marsha (Bill Letcher) Poll of Clinton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Alex Poll, Austin Poll, Nichole (Michael) Tekippe, Mathew Drury, Samantha (Chris) Teske, Nathan Drury, Cameron Drury, and Cade Drury; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Deb) Drury of Miles and Marvin (June) Drury of Clinton.
Milton is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; one son, Marty Drury; three brothers, Darrell, Calvin, and Melvin Drury; and one sister, Thelma Foster.
