ALBANY- Nancy L. Bennett, 70, of Albany, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at University Hospital in Iowa City.

Nancy was born on April 24, 1947 in Sheldon, Wisc., a daughter of Fay and Mabel (Appleman) Dickau. She married Paul E. Bennett on April 22, 1967 in Fulton. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2003.

Nancy was a tool crib attendant for 23 years with Drives, Inc. Later she drove a tractor trailer with her husband for 12 years with Transport America.

She enjoyed camping and loved her grand dogs. Nancy adored her family and loved spending time with them.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Theresa Velasco of Fulton and Melissa Bennett of Albany; a son, Gene Bennett of Fulton; grandchildren, Matthew, Paul and Lexie; sisters, Patty Dickau of Fulton, Val (Mark) Burgess of Clinton, Iowa and Kim Stuart of Fulton; brothers Ron Dickau of Thomson, Bob (Carrie) Dickau and Randy Dickau both of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, May 12 at McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 13 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Upper York Cemetery in Thomson. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory to American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
