Raymond L. Meyermann, 83, of Camanche, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home in Camanche.
A private family visitation will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 10:00am at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Camanche. A public graveside service will follow at 11:00am at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Raymond LeRoy Meyermann was born on November 11, 1933 in Clinton, the son of Benjamin and Zelda (Schwartz) Meyermann. He was a 1951 graduate of Elvira High School. He married Jeannette Jorgensen on December 6, 1953 in Clinton. She passed away October 24, 2015.
Ray was employed at Clinton Corn, Alcoa, Equistar and JT Cullen. He was a member of the International Management Council. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, gardening, camping, roller skating, bird watching, and dancing. He was friendly and helpful to everyone, had a great way with words, and a wonderful sense of humor.
Ray is survived by his children: Kevin (Rhonda) Meyermann of Cordova, Illinois; Rick (Janice) Meyermann of Pace, Florida; Libby (Dan) Goodman of Morrison, Illinois, and Michele (Rich Harrison) Meyermann of Sioux City, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Darla Jorgensen and Lois Meyermann both of Clinton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his brother: Virtus Meyermann, sister-in-law: Marilyn Ravis, and brother-in-law: Ray Jorgensen.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alverno Health Care Facility or the American Cancer Society.
