Roger H. Weller, 76, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday afternoon, January 10, 2017, at Wheatland Manor.
Roger Harris Weller was born July 19, 1940, in Andrew to Ernest and Grace (Hamilton) Weller. He was a 1958 graduate of DeWitt High School. He married Suzanne Kane October 19, 1968, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Long Grove. The couple resided in DeWitt where they raised their family. Roger was employed at Matthiesen's Processing and as a lineman for Iowa Electric Light and Power for 35 years until retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifetime member of the Izaak Walton League and the Iowa Bowhunter's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne; son, Jeffery Weller of Davenport; siblings, Richard (Marie) Weller of Davenport, Joyce Clark of Milan, Illinois and Dennis Weller of Iowa City; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, James (Peggy) Kane of Long Grove and Kathleen Grimes of Bettendorf; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Roger in death were his parents; brothers, TJ and Gerald; a brother-in-law, David Clark; nephews, David Wayne Clark and Joseph William Clark a niece, Lavonne Anne Clark.
The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Pastor Tom Boomershine will officiate. Burial will be at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery, Long Grove.
