Sharon K. Bearce, 75, of Pekin and formerly of Savanna, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
The daughter of Harrison E. and Charlotte (Helle) Osborn, Sharon was born on January 29, 1942 in Savanna IL.
Sharon worked at the Savanna Army Depot and then went on to become the Detroit area manager for the U.S. Federal Government for 4 years. When she retired in 2001, she had served a total of 30 years for the U.S. government, having received many accolades for her exemplary service.
Sharon was a woman of strength and character, never afraid to stand up for what she believed in or to defend those in need. She was an avid aficionado of genealogy, spending countless hours tracing and documenting her family lineage, which is an incredible gift to her family.
Sharon was a remarkable woman who loved family more than anything else. Her generosity and her willingness to accept and embrace all are qualities that endeared her to everyone who met her. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest source of pride. She had an infectious laugh and a deep commitment to her family, which will be remembered forever. She will be dearly missed.
Those left to honor her memory include a daughter, Lorilei (Rachel) Baker of Des Moines, Iowa; three sons, Ron Bearce of Pekin, Rob Bearce of Texas and Dan (Sabrina) Bearce of Montgomery, a nephew whom she helped raise as a son, Derek Osborn; two sisters, Carol Anderson of Wisconsin and Crystal (Roger) Lovejoy of Colorado; a brother, George E. Osborn of Savanna; numerous nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandchild, and numerous cousins whom she considered to be like siblings.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on May 27 at 2 pm at the VFW in Savanna, IL. A memorial has been established to the National Kidney Foundation in her memory.
