Susan E. Dau age 66 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday Nov. 28, 2017 at The Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Pape Funeral Home. Susan was born on July 17, 1951 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Olen and Elsie (Holliday) Austin. She graduated from Clinton High School. She married James Thomson in 1974; together they had four sons. She later married Darrell Dau in 1996. Susan worked at Swiss Colony, Mercy Hospital, Skyline Center, and was a consultant with Pampered Chef. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved celebrating the holiday season with her family. She was active with the Women on Wheels, enjoyed bowling, playing pool, her animals and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Susan is survived by her four sons, Jason (Melinda) Thomson of Preston, Eric (Amber Eagle) Thomson of Clinton, Joshua (Candice) Thomson of Sabula, and Adam (Jessica) Thomson of Camanche; seven grandchildren, Heidi, Elsie, Austin, Owen, Tucker, Greta, and Iris; her step-children, Dustin Dau of Camanche, Darren (Liz) Dau of Davenport, and David Dau of Clinton; two step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; her sister, Jill Austin of Spring, TX; two brothers, David (Jolie) Austin of Amelia Court House, VA and Bruce (Jane) Austin of Clinton; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Virginia Austin.
