Swade's Story

Swade R. Byam, age 40, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Swade was born in Clinton on April 22, 1977, the daughter of Wade and Marlane (Brewster) Fallesen. She married Richard Byam on October 30, 2001 in Clinton. Swade had worked as a waitress and later as a bartender at the Sabula VFW. She also did in home care. She was associated with the Church of the Open Door. Swade enjoyed camping, shooting guns, being outdoors, walks in the timber, mushroom hunting and fishing, especially cat fishing on the Maquoketa River at Cod Fish Hollow.

Swade is survived by her husband Rick; three children, Raymond D, Byam of Clinton, Tristen W. Byam of Clinton and Rhiannon R. Byam of DeWitt; three grandchildren, Julie, Willow and Emery; her father, Wade Fallesen of Clinton; her sister, Connie Lou Fallensen of Maquoketa and two nieces, Patience and Karly Swade. She was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents.
