Warren's Story

Warren C. Young age 90 of Clinton passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his daughters home in Andalusia, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, September 29th at the Lyons United Methodist Church. A memorial service will begin at 11 AM on Friday. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Warren was born on April 20, 1927, in Clinton, IA, the son of Vernon and Edna (Fenzel) Young. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1945. He served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Warren married Margaret Oliver on February 14, 1948, in Clinton. Margaret passed away on April 25, 2015. Warren worked at E.I. DuPont in Clinton for over 38 years. He was a member of the Lyons Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice boating, and making bluebird and wood duck nesting boxes.

Warren is survived by his three children, David (Carol) Young of Edgewood, NM, Karen Young of Waterloo, IA and Sue (Mike) Robinson of Andalusia, IL; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Janice) Young of Clinton; and two sisters, Ramona Redman and Vernetta (Leigh) Goff both of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, a son Douglas in 2007, and a great-grandson, Oliver Palmer. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
