Clara's Story

Clara J. Weimerskirch, 66, of Mesa, AZ, originally from Andrew, Iowa and raised in the Baldwin, Iowa area passed away December 30, 2016. She was born June 5, 1950 in Davenport, IA to George August and Emily Judith [Lippens] Caes. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Weimerskirch at the Jackson County Fair in August of 1965 and the two started dating in spring of 1966; they were married three years later on January 11, 1969. Clara attended Maquoketa High School Over the years Clara and Kenneth had welcomed three sons into their family, Duane, Derrick and Dustin. She loved the change of seasons, enjoyed cooking and was great at it, and had a knack for decorating during the holidays. When Clara wasn't decorating her home or doing crafts she loved to work on decorating her lawn. Clara was especially dedicated to her grandchildren. Clara also loved to travel and visit family. Her most recent paradise was Hawaii. Throughout her life, she worked for several different companies, including Bennett Box, Hoffman Produce, and Pacific Coast Feather and for the last 17 years before retirement, Walmart. Clara was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Danny. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Kenneth Weimerskirch; sons, Dustin (Laura), Duane and Derrick (Debbie) Weimerskirch; her grandchildren, Derrick Jr, Brandon, Gavin and Olivia Weimerskirch as well as her sisters, Delores Current of Monmouth, Iowa, Gloria Caven and Helen Schnoor. both of Maquoketa, Iowa.Private services will be held Tuesday January 3, 2017. A mass will be held, Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201 Burial will be in Iowa at another date.
