Clarence Taliaferro, 69, of Clinton, IA passed away early morning on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Severy, Kansas.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1947 in Eureka, KS to Louis Frank and Wilma (McMurray) Taliaferro. He graduated from Severy High School with the Class of 1965. He married N. Jean Wooderson on March 7, 1966 in Parsons, KS. He retired from Archer Daniels Midland Co in February 2010 of Clinton, IA. Clarence was part-owner of General Contractors, Inc. with his son Bradley Taliaferro from Delmar, Iowa. Clarence enjoyed sports and irritating his grandchildren. He was always there to help and support his family and complete projects at their homes. Clarence spent most of his days traveling and spending time with family, he was an avid gardener, and kept busy by completing projects around the yard and house. Clarence was a member of Severy Baptist Church.
Clarence is survived by his wife, N. Jean Taliaferro of 51 years; four children, Bradley Taliaferro and wife, Theresa of Delmar, IA; Nancy L Taliaferro of Grover, NC; Tonya Conger and husband, Jeff of Withee, Wisconsin; and James E. Taliaferro of Clinton, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Whitney, Thai, Tylar, Trista, Tyler, Lexi, Jade, and Jacey, Abby; and sister, Helen Taliaferro of Augusta, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Wilma Taliaferro.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at the Church of the Open Door, 816 13th Ave N, Clinton, IA from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
