Evelyn L. Kruse age 90 Clinton passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Alverno. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Evelyn was born in Sabula on September 18, 1926 the daughter of William and Hattie (Dau) Nagel. She married Virtus Kruse on February 28, 1948 in Davenport. Virtus passed away on December 14, 2006. Evelyn was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Bryant and Elvira areas. She later was employed at A.C. Nielsen Company. Evelyn always took interest in her families activities. She enjoyed listening to the local radio station, going to Sweetheart Bakery for a daily cinnamon roll, bowling and playing 500.
Evelyn is survived by two children; Shirlee (Richard) Spensley of Clinton and Jerry (Gail) Kruse of Fulton; four grandchildren, Ryan Kruse, Brent (Jackie) Kruse, Randall Spensley and Sheilah Spensley; four great grandchildren, Ava and Kennedy Kruse and Randy and Jackson Spensley; a step-granddaughter, Sue (Marv) Lind; two step-great grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Sheridan and Justin Lind; four sisters, Betty Meyer of Sabula, Elaine Clark of Scottsdale, AZ, Carol Nagel of Miles and Bonnie McConohy of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Larry Nagel and Bill Nagel and two sisters, Marlene Nagel and Phyllis Schnoor. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
