Barbara E. Berg ("Barb") Obituary

Barbara E. Berg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 76.

Barbara was born July 12, 1948, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Ellen (Schoenherr) Lindemier. She attended the Emeline School from kindergarten to sixth grade, and graduated from Maquoketa High School. Barbara was united in marriage to Allen Berg at St. John's Lutheran Church in Preston, Iowa, on November 10, 1968.

Barbara worked at the Peterson Paper Company in Davenport, Iowa, for a time before she and Allen opened Lindy's Restaurant in Delmar, Iowa. She also proudly drove school bus for 16 years for the Maquoketa Community School District, driving for many sports and activities.

Barb, known to everyone as "Hot Wheels", loved being outdoors and spent time gardening, four wheeling, traveling and camping. She especially loved riding and driving horses, and had a special place in her heart for her beloved mule, Suzy Q. Barb cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a foster parent for many years.

Barbara is survived by her husband Allen of Marshalltown, Iowa; children, Becky (Kevin) Grimm of Delmar, Iowa, Paula (Dan) Brown of Maquoketa, David Berg of Clinton, Iowa, and Crystal (Daniel) Martin of Maquoketa; her sister, Nancy (John) Suthers of Delmar; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Diane Lindemier of Maquoketa; her best friends, Iva Clark and Kay Larkey; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Rochelle "Shelly" Rae Berg, and her brother Roy Lindemier.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Carson Celebration of Life Center, Maquoketa, on Thursday, March 13th, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 1:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
