Fulton, IL - FULTON - Berneta "Bonnie" Mae Carstens, 104, of Fulton, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa. Bonnie was born on March 30, 1919, in East Lorimor, Iowa, the daughter of John and May (Bierce) Parker. She married Henry Carstens on Oct. 11, 1945, in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1999. Prior to marriage, Bonnie worked as an LPN at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and later as a sorter at Pride Seed Corn in Dewitt, Iowa. She loved being in her yard, and was an extremely hard worker.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Devore, of Adel, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Barbara Orfield, of Dubuque, Iowa; one niece, Joanne Knutsen, of DeWitt, Iowa; four grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special friends, Hub Hughes, of DeWitt, Iowa, and Ron Scharer, of Fulton, Illinois; and her beloved dog "Abby."

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Paul Orfield; and one brother, Carl Parker.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will conclude at Lusk Cemetery in Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albany Ambulance Association.
