Bonnie Jean Mendoza, 75, of Sterling, died on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Rock River Hospice Home. Bonnie was born on September 5, 1948, in Chicago, the daughter of Richard and Flora (Payne) Finnell. She married Raul Mendoza on November 18, 1984, in Monterey, CA. In earlier years, Bonnie worked in Insurance, but her true passion was in sales. She worked as the Regional Sales Consultant for Party Lite Gifts for 18 years. Bonnie loved her customers and enjoyed meeting new people.

Survivors include her husband Raul Mendoza, of Sterling; three sons, Andrew Madison, of Clinton, IA, Aaron (Mindy) Mendoza, of Albany, IL, and Steven Mendoza, of Clinton, IA; one sister, Susan Kort, of Sterling; four grandchildren, Reilly Madison, and Kayleen, Kalissa, and Jaxtyn Mendoza; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Rick and Jack Finnell.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bonnie's memory to Rock River Hospice & Home.
