Daniel D. Sherman, 66, of Davenport, IA died unexpectedly Monday, May 9, 2016. Private family committal services will be held at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. A celebration of his life will be held and light refreshments served from 11 am - 1 pm Saturday, May 14th at the Tanglewood Pavilion, 4250 Middle Road, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to Friends of Vander Veer. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting his family with arrangements.

Dan was born in 1949 in Berwyn, IL to H. Lee and Kathleen Hayes Sherman. A 1967 graduate of St. Mary's High School, Clinton, IA. Dan worked for the City of Davenport from 1976 to 2008, working his way up from maintenance operator to Director of Parks and Recreation.

Local survivors in the Clinton area include his mother, Kathleen Hayes Sherman of Fulton, IL and brother, Tim (Kathi) Sherman of Clinton, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, H. Lee Sherman.
