Jean M. Luett Obituary

Jean Marie (Nash) Luett, 89, of Clinton, Iowa, passed on Wednesday evening, November 6, 2024, at home.

Jean Marie Nash was born on March 25, 1935, in Oakdale, Louisiana to James Earl and Jose-phine (Glavincheff) Nash. She was a 1953 graduate of Leaf River High School in Leaf River, IL and at-tended Northern Illinois State Teacher's College for 2 years. In 1955, she moved to Rockford, IL and worked for Howard Monk Advertising, then relocated to Chicago to work for Donald Young Associ-ates. After moving to Clinton, IA in 1970 she began a long and happy career at Mercy Hospital, retir-ing in 1987 as a Pharmacy Technician.

Retirement was short-lived, her love of horses led her to White Oaks Therapeutic Riding Stables in Morrison, IL. She was a certified Path International Riding and Driving Instructor for mentally and physically challenged people. She served on their Board of Directors for almost 10 years. She always said those times at the barn with friends were the best.

In 1976, she married James Luett of Clinton, IA. For over 45 years they shared a love of collecting antiques and art, their many beloved horses and dogs, and traveling through life together.

Jean also leaves two children who will miss her dearly: Jennifer Bobitt Vital of Fulton, IL and James Bobitt (Julie) of Des Moines, IA.

The lights of her life were her three grandchildren: Mitchell Bobitt, a Graphic Artist in Seattle, WA; Reese Bobitt, studying law at the University of Oregon; and Aleigha Vital studying Child Psy-chology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Many of her fondest memories of them were family vacations, cooking their favorite foods and then later in life sharing laughs and margaritas.

Like her parents before her, she was an avid bird watcher, gardener and had an eye for antique treasures and art. The best days were spent with her family and friends and beloved horses. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Audrey Davey.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be held from 1 to 4 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at The Warehouse, 110 N. 2nd Street, Clinton, IA 52732.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society or charity of the donor's choice.

The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. Online condolences may be left at www.CarsonAndSon.com.
