John Finch, 70, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Lino Lakes, MN after a long battle with cancer. Per his wishes there will be no formal services. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown, IA was entrusted with the arrangements.

John was born to Charles and Barbara (Frazier) Finch on January 11, 1953, in Clinton, IA. He attended school in Clinton for the entirety of his elementary and secondary education. John proudly served in the United States Navy from 1971-1975, where he was stationed in Norfolk, VA and served as a hospital Corpman. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he returned to the Clinton area where he began his long career as an over the road truck driver. John was united in marriage to Cindy Doavan on July 27, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV. When he retired in 2010 due to his declining health, he was the proud owner/operator of JR Finch Trucking. John loved to fish, ride his Harley, watch the Minnesota Twins and Vikings play, and travel this beautiful country in his 18-wheeler where he had been in all lower 48 states.

John will be deeply missed by his wife of 24 years, Cindy (Donavan) Finch, a step-daughter, Jennifer Oltman of St. Paul, MN, a son, Carl Newmarch of Bloomington, MN, five siblings; Judith (Gary) Westman of Largo, FL, James Finch of Palm Harbor, FL, Cindy Finch of Safety Harbor, FL, Shelly (Roger) Finch of Palm Harbor, FL, Troy (Jordana) Finch of Palm Harbor, FL, and many nieces and nephews. He was welcomed to Heaven by his parents and two sisters, Lynda Anderson and Connie Oestreich.
