John E. Hill age 74 of Clinton, passed away Monday Sept. 9, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, September 15th at the Pape Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. John was born on Sept. 6, 1945 in Clinton, the son of Clarence and Marjorie (Tadsen) Hill. He graduated from DeWitt High School in 1963. John served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Karen Nielsen on April 17, 1971 in Clinton. John worked for Interstate Power Company in Clinton and Mid-American Power Company in Davenport as a supervisor for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing billiards, golfing, watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Karen Hill of Clinton; three daughters, Deb (Keith) Hein of Clinton, Lisa Burnett of Boynton Beach, FL, and Danielle Graham of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Matthew, Justin, Katie; six great grandchildren, Rylan, Hayley, Andrew, Elliot, Alexis, Elena; three brothers, Kenneth (Connie) Hill, Larry (Diane) Hill, and Richard (Lorna) Hill; and a step brother, Dennis Hill; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon.
