Camanche, Iowa - Kara Nicole Espey, 31, of Camanche, Iowa, lived her life surrounded by love and was called home and gained her angel wings on January 28, 2026.

Born November 25, 1994, in Clinton, Iowa, Kara was known for her joy, kindness and the way she made people feel seen and valued. She loved the Quad Cities, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, music, cold Pepsi, and time with the people she loved. Siesta Key Beach was her happy place, where she found joy and another circle of family.

Above all else, Kara loved her people. What grew around Team Kara brought connection and light and she cherished every person who became part of it.

Kara is survived by her parents, David and Lori Espey of Camanche; her sisters, Michelle (Troy) Hilgendorf, Alisha (Roger Campie) Espey, and Renee George; her niece Alexa DeVries and other nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her aunt Kathy Goetzel.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family.
