Margaret M. Burken
Margaret Mary Kenney Burken, our beautiful mother, age 86 of Clinton, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Prince of Peace Parish, celebrated by Msgr. Francis Henricksen. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21st at the Pape Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery.

Margaret was born in Clinton on September 22, 1933, the daughter of Gerald and Ethel (Doyle) Kenney. She graduated from Mt. St. Clare Academy in 1950. Margaret married Robert Burken on October 24, 1953 at St. Patrick's Church in Clinton. Margaret had worked at Allen's Tea Room, Burpee Seed's, the Shot Tower Inn, Calamus Country Club and at Target as well as a caregiver for her family. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, a member of their ladies auxiliary, where she volunteered on the funeral luncheon teams. She was a baker and devoted servant of the prayer chain. She loved spending time with her family, sewing, crafts, and feeding and watching the birds. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and Lumberkings and was the family historian.

Margaret is survived by 4 children; Theresa Barr of Clinton, Beth (Rick) Rannfeldt of Clinton, David (Carrie) Burken of Sebastian, FL and Mary Rose Burken of Clinton; 10 grandchildren: Brian, Steve, Michelle, Nicole, Danny, Chris, Carmen, Kassy, Kyle and Amanda and 7 great grandchildren: Bryce, Alexis, Madison, Kiben, Kasia, Everett and Charity. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald; 3 brothers, Robert, Gerald and James and 2 sisters, Marilyn and Ellen. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or the Shriner's. We have many good memories of Margaret during our time in Clinton. The world could use more Margarets.....it would be a better place. RIP Margaret. Job well done.

I knew her as MA Burken. She was a psuedo mom for many teenagers like my brother, Jim Knight. I didn't know her personally, but she meant a lot to many teens.

Margret was an Unstoppable Force in all she did. I had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her for10 years,she was everyone's friend,and she knew everyone Too.This Community will miss this "Bright Star" and Loving Individual as Will I.
