Albany, IL - Marguerite Ann Clark, 93, of Albany, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at La Bella of Morrison, Illinois.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Albany United Methodist Church, with Pastor Toni Lucas officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the church, with the graveside service taking place at 2 p.m. at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, Illinois. A memorial has been established to the Albany United Methodist Church and Ebenezer Reformed Church.
Marguerite was born April 22, 1933, in Erie, Illinois, to William and Gertrude (Sissing) Norman. She was educated in the Lockhart and Fulton Grade Schools and graduated from Fulton High School in 1951. She continued her education at Central College in Pella, Iowa. Marguerite married Eugene R. Sikkema on July 24, 1953, in Fulton, Illinois. They shared their lives for nearly 33 years before his death on April 26, 1986. She later married Merle G. Clark on January 24, 1991, in Fort Myers, Florida. They shared 17 years together before his death on February 7, 2008. Music was at the heart of Marguerite's life and was a gift she faithfully shared with countless others. She began serving as a church organist in 1950 and continued playing for churches throughout Illinois, Iowa, and Florida for many years. She accompanied school choruses in Clinton, Fulton, Elvira, Rock Falls and Camanche, where she served as accompanist for nearly 15 years. Marguerite also accompanied The Clintones in Clinton for several years and Sounds of Florida in Cape Coral, Florida, for six years. In addition, she worked with vocalists and violinists at Edison Community College in Fort Myers, Florida, for six years. Through her remarkable musical talent, she enriched worship services, concerts, and performances, touching the lives of many throughout her lifelong dedication to music ministry and accompaniment.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Sikkema of Albany, Illinois; three sons, Roger (Laura) Sikkema of Fulton, Illinois, William (Annette) Sikkema of Clinton, Iowa, and Randy (Luan) Sikkema of Albany, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Tod (Todd) Sikkema, Troy (Kim) Sikkema, Sara (Rodney) Hansen, Drew (Stephanie) Sikkema, Eric (Taylor) Sikkema, and Alyssa (Michael) Chizek, Jennifer Anglese, Jared (Michelle) Colschen; seven great-grandchildren Troy Sikkema Jr., Tori Sikkema, Natalie Hardin, Isabella Hansen, Rory Sikkema, Jack Sikkema and Ella Chizek; six step-great-grandchildren, Anthony and Anna Hansen, Tyler (Aubrey) Colschen and Allie Colschen, Raven and Jaden Mitchell; six great-great-grandchildren, Blakely and Baker Sikkema, Amelia and Adalyn Heimbaugh, Bowen Colschen and Ivy Mitchell; her beloved fur babies, Beethoven, Kalua, Maverick, Loki, Hajii, Sayia and Buddy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Sikkema; her second husband, Merle Clark; and three brothers, Elmer, John, and Robert Norman.
