Clinton, Iowa - The family of M. Patrice Golinvaux, 76, is sad to announce her passing. Pat died peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was born to Mary Madonna (Gilloon) and Thomas Denning Smith in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest of their 12 children. Family was very important to her and she was the resident family historian. Pat graduated from St. Mary's High School and received a BA from Mount St. Clare College. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel and Michael; her brother-in-law, Steven Schumacher, and nephew Paul.

She is survived by siblings Mark (Pamela) Smith, David (Margaret) Smith, Terese Schumacher, Stephen (Mary) Smith, Thomas (Lisa) Smith, Peter Smith, Ann Smith, Kate (Scott) Marlowe, Madonna Smith (Nicholas Parker), and many nieces and nephews.

Pat married James Golinvaux in Chicago in 1982, and together they had two sons, Ryan (Jassica) and Barry (Monica) and four beloved grandchildren Connor, McKenna, Beaux, and Colton.

She loved spending time with her sons and their families. Together they built many special memories at Okoboji and Walt Disney World. She enjoyed spending time in the sun, sand, and water and loved revisiting her favorite locales but always returned to the Midwest to be with family.

Pat was a vibrant and active member of her community. She was involved in many civic organizations, including the Human Rights Commission of Clinton, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, the Clinton County Democrats, and Living Peace 365, among others. She deeply appreciated the arts and fashion, and was a talented contributor to community theatre, children's theatre, and local pageants.

She brought her passion for life to everything she did. She led by example and shared her love for the arts and travel, inspiring her siblings and family to explore and learn for themselves.

A funeral service will be at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at Lemke Funeral Homes-South Chapel. Visitation will take place on Thursday, 3-6 p.m.

The family would like to thank Park Vista Retirement Living, Visiting Angels, Home Instead and St. Croix Hospice Davenport for all their care and kindness. Special mention to Christy, Shelby, Stacey, and Liz.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clinton Showboat Theater.
