Clinton, IA - Paul William Hessing, 53, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at home suddenly of a pulmonary embolism on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Honoring his wishes cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of his life taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1-4 p.m., at 4606 170th Street, Clinton, Iowa. Burial will take place at St. Irenaeus Cemetery at a later date. River's Edge Cremation-Clinton is honored to serve the family of Paul Hessing during this difficult time.

Paul was born on September 4, 1972, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William Francis and Beulah (Schroeder) Hessing. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and Clinton Community College.

Paul was a member of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church.

He was united in marriage to Julie Lynn Keis on October 1, 1995, and they shared many wonderful years together until her passing in 2008.

Paul devoted his career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse in hospice care, a profession that reflected his compassionate spirit and selfless nature.

Paul loved the outdoors and found great enjoyment in gardening. He was a natural caregiver who touched countless lives through his kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication. Above all else, Paul cherished his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father whose greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved most.

Paul is survived by his mother — Beulah Hessing of Clinton; four sons — Trent Hessing, Alex Hessing, Evan (Madison) Hessing, and Brendan (Jessalyn) Hessing, all of Clinton; two brothers, Jeff Hessing and Matt (Jessica) Hessing of Marion; four nieces, Samantha, Ally, Caitlynn, and Adalynne; three nephews, Nick, Nolan, and Zackary; brothers-in-law, Gary (Liz) Keis, John (Chrissy) Keis, and Jeff (Robin) Keis; and his father-in-law, Dan Keis; along with many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Hessing; his mother-in-law, Peggy Keis; his wife Julie Lynn Keis-Hessing and sister-in-law, Laura.
