Clive, IA - Richard E. Brandenburg, age 88, of Clive, IA, formerly of Albany, IL, died Thursday, February 12, 2026 at his home.

Richard was born June 18, 1937 in Clinton, IA, the son of Henry and Gladys (Manning) Brandenburg. He married Janice Reedy on May 18, 1962 in Albany. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2019. Richard was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years, retiring on July 1, 1999. He was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church and the Albany Lions Club.

He is survived by his son, Doug (Cindy) Brandenburg of Clive, IA; two daughters, Kim (Paul) Rovane of Atoka, TN and Jeanne Moreland of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren, Kyle (Jordan) Brandenburg, Katie (Brett) Schneider, Aimee Rovane, Amber (Alan) Weems, Arieanna Moreland, and Jasmine Moreland; and three great grandchildren, Jamison Schneider, Lilli Schneider, and Iris Weems.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Brandenburg; his parents; and two brothers, William and Robert.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Avenue, Fulton. The funeral will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Albany United Methodist Church with Pastor Toni Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Lusk Cemetery in Albany.

A memorial has been established to Albany United Methodist Church.
