Clinton, Iowa - Robert W. Hess, 77, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 12pm to 3pm at the Eco Center at Rock Creek Campground & Marina in Camanche. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.

Robert Wayne Hess was born August 4, 1948, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Victor and Opal (Primley) Hess. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. On February 18, 1967, he married Sharon Tucker in Clinton, beginning a marriage that spanned nearly six decades.

Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and boating on the Mississippi River. He also treasured time spent with his family on trips to the Northwoods of Wisconsin near Hayward, creating memories that will be fondly remembered.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sharon of Clinton; his daughters, Kim Hess of Clinton and Angie Hess of Eldridge, Iowa; three grandchildren, Colton(Molly), Jonathan, and Emily; and three great-grandchildren, William, Charles, and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
