Tristan Earl Toppert was born on June 26, 2002, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Kevin and Lisa (Stuedemann) Toppert. Proud brother Andy was there upon his arrival and welcomed Tristan to the world with his first hug. Tristan was currently a junior at Fulton High School where he loved being a part of the building trades program. He relished in learning new skills in the program and valued all of his fellow building trades classmates, but especially his sweet program friend, Kaleb. Tristan cherished being a part of Steamer Nation and being a member of the football brotherhood, which was like another family to him. He was also active in track and had played the saxophone up to this year. He and Mr. Anton tried to make band work in his schedule, but his priority was to attend building trades at the Whiteside Area Vocational Center in Sterling, IL.

Tristan loved his family and was deeply rooted in his faith. He believed that love abounds and forgiveness should be freely given. He was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church where he was willing to serve in any capacity needed including leading the potato room at the fall supper this last year. He relished his confirmation friends and the many memories as they all grew in their love of the Lord.

He had a servant's heart and would share love freely. His smile and once in a while mischievous grin could light a room. He loved working with his hands and spent many hours with his grandfather to learn more about woodworking and welding. He poured his heart and soul into handmade gifts for all of his family this Christmas that will be cherished forever. He loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and was very excited for the game this weekend. Tristan's spirit and spunk were absolutely "Contagious", something that we will all cherish forever!

Tristan is survived by his parents: Kevin & Lisa Toppert of Fulton; three brothers and their family: Brent (Heather) Toppert: Bradley, Embrey, and Kyver of Morrison, Illinois, Matt (Andrea) Toppert: Rylan & Quinten of Clinton, Iowa, Andy (Tori) Toppert: Bentley & Garrett of Fulton, Illinois; his paternal grandparents: Gale & Dorothy Toppert of Morrison, Illinois; his material grandparents: Ray & Evelyn Stuedemann of Clinton, Iowa; his uncle: Jeff (Emily) Toppert: Maxwell & Henry of Cantonment, Florida; his aunts and Godparents: Lana (Brent) Griswold: Kelsee (Brandon) McCulloh, Karlee Griswold of Clinton, Iowa; and Leslie (Juan) Raya: Adia & Carson of Geneseo, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Cayden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a scholarship fund being established in Tristan's name.

Tristan was the light of the world to his family and friends. He left an indelible mark on those around him. As we learn to go on minute by minute and day by day in a world without Tristan, we ask you to help us honor his memory forever. Give love freely and forgive as the Lord has guided us. We ask you to choose kind even when it is hard, choose kind even when it isn't cool, and most importantly choose kind to honor the spirit of Tristan.
