Chicago, Illinois - William (Bill) J. Montgomery, age 68, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, with loved ones nearby. Guests may offer condolences to family and friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the funeral service to be held Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026, 3 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton, Iowa. Bill was born on October 18, 1957, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Trudy Montgomery. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1976 and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Iowa. Bill was a financial broker with Merrill Lynch working at the Chicago Board of Trade prior to being employed with Regal Securities, Compliance Operations until his retirement in 2025. He enjoyed watching classic movies, golfing, bicycling and being outdoors.

Bill is survived by 11 siblings: Linda (Michael) Ronek of Hamilton, Ohio, James (Kelly) of Clinton, Deborah of Clinton, Tom (Laura) of Ankeny, Iowa, Tim of Yorkville, Illinois, Patrick (Jill) of Highland, Wisconsin, Sean of Singapore, Mary of Ankeny, Iowa, Robert (Rob Sorum) of Chicago, Illinois, Patricia (Dave) Mallary of Cordova, Illinois, and David of Clinton, as well as many nephews and nieces. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Kathleen and brother, Kevin. The family requests memorials may be contributed to the American Diabetes Association.
